When does cyber history start? Early cyber war occurred long before computers were invented. The history of cyber conflict dates back to the founding of electronic communication. An early example was the U.S. civil war, which saw both sides using the telegraph to pass military orders. Soon both sides recognized they could attack the other’s telegraph. Then they realized they could listen in. Soon they realized they could pass erroneous information via the other side’s lines. In doing so, the history of cyber conflict began.
